SECTION 2 / The Solution

Hardwired Akuvox Intercom with Mobile Access

Hexagon Valley installed an Akuvox E12S doorbell at the entry point, connected to an Akuvox S562 touchscreen monitor inside the home.

The system was fully hardwired and physically connected to the internet, giving the clients a more reliable setup than a basic wireless doorbell system.

The intercom was also connected to the clients’ mobile devices, allowing them to answer the door remotely, speak with visitors and manage front-door communication even when they are not home.

Because the system is connected through the Akuvox secure portal, Hexagon Valley can also provide remote support and assist with settings if required.

The finished system gave the clients a reliable local and remote intercom setup that fits around their work and lifestyle.
Visitors can ring the doorbell and call through to the internal touchscreen monitor when the clients are home. When they are away, calls can be answered through their mobile devices, helping them respond to deliveries and visitors from almost anywhere.

The hardwired internet connection also gives the system a strong foundation for reliable day-to-day use and easier remote support when needed.

SECTION 1 / The Challenge

Managing Visitors and Deliveries Around a Busy Schedule

The clients are a busy couple working in the healthcare industry, so they needed a practical way to manage visitors, deliveries and front-door access around unpredictable schedules.
They wanted an intercom system that worked reliably when they were home, but also gave them the ability to respond remotely when they were away. This meant they could speak to visitors, manage deliveries and avoid missed calls at the door without needing to physically be at the property.
The system also needed to be reliable, easy to use and suitable for remote support if any settings needed to be adjusted later. The client wanted CCTV coverage for key external areas of the property, including the front of the home, garage/driveway area and outdoor living spaces.

As a modern residential property, the installation needed to be practical without looking heavy-handed. Camera placement had to provide useful visibility while keeping the finish neat and in line with the home’s exterior.

SECTION 3 / The Outcome

A More Flexible Way to Answer the Door
